Sports Authority Member Rewards Program FAQ

General Member Questions

Does it cost anything to be a member of The League by Sports Authority™ or the S.A. Elite Sports Authority® Member Program?
No. There's no fee to join and no ongoing membership fee.
Can I earn Points and redeem Rewards with purchases at sportsauthority.com?
You can earn Points for purchases on sportsauthority.com, but at this time you are not able to redeem Rewards online.
How do I cancel my membership?
Memberships can be canceled at any time by contacting Member Services at 877-872-6806 for The League by Sports Authority™ or 800-242-0282 for the S.A. Elite by Sports Authority® Member Program, or on sportsauthority.com/theleague or saelite.com/memberprogram under the My Information heading. Upon cancellation, your membership will be deactivated. Cancellation may take from six to eight weeks to finalize. Please keep in mind that once your account has been deactivated, any Points or Rewards you have earned will be permanently deleted.
What should I do if there is an error in the Points I have received?
Please confirm it was an eligible purchase and was not returned at a later date. A refunded item will reduce the Points associated with the transaction shown on your purchase history, but will not be reflected in the transaction detail. If that still does not clarify your question, please call Member Services at 877-872-6806 for The League by Sports Authority™ or 800-242-0282 for the S.A. Elite by Sports Authority Member Program.

Is my membership valid at S.A. Elite retail stores?
Yes. Your membership is valid at participating U.S. and Puerto Rico Sports Authority and S.A. Elite by Sports Authority retail store locations.
What are the qualifying earning periods?
There are four earning periods, each three months in length, during which Points can be earned:
  • Period 1: January 1 through March 31
  • Period 2: April 1 through June 30
  • Period 3: July 1 through September 30
  • Period 4: October 1 through December 31
When will I receive my Rewards?
  • Rewards will be issued and available to print at sportsauthority.com/theleague or saelite.com/memberprogram within five to seven business days after the last day of the earning period and issued by email within two weeks after the last day of the earning period.
  • Members who have earned a Reward will also receive their Rewards by mail within three to five weeks from the date of issuance. To receive Rewards by mail, members must provide a valid mailing address when completing their online registration.
  • Regardless of how many times or in what vehicle you receive them, Rewards may be used only once.

Card Questions

Where can I get a membership card?
You can get a membership card at the register of Sports Authority and S.A. Elite by Sports Authority stores.
I lost my membership card. How can I get another?
You can get a replacement membership card at the register of Sports Authority and S.A. Elite by Sports Authority stores.
I got my card in the store; what do I do next?
Once you receive your membership card, you are officially a member and can use that card to earn Points on qualifying purchases at Sports Authority and S.A. Elite by Sports Authority retail stores and on sportsauthority.com. If you haven't already done so, you should then complete your online registration at sportsauthority.com/theleague or saelite.com/memberprogram in order to view your account balance, view your transaction history and print and redeem Rewards. Completing your online registration is the only way to access your Point balance and access your Rewards online.
What if I forgot my membership card?
If you are at a store and do not have your membership card, the associate at the register can access your account with either the email address or phone number you provided during enrollment.
I signed up online; is a membership card required?
If you enrolled online, you can get a membership card at the register of any Sports Authority and S.A. Elite by Sports Authority stores, although a membership card is not required. The Associate at the register can access your account with either the email address or phone number you provided during enrollment.

Points and Rewards

What are Points and how do I earn them?
As a member of The League by Sports Authority and S.A. Elite by Sports Authority® Member Program, you will earn one Point for every dollar you spend on qualifying purchases during a quarterly earning period when you use your membership for purchases at Sports Authority and S.A. Elite by Sports Authority retail stores and on sportsauthority.com. See Program Rules for more details.
Are there any exclusions when earning Points?
Yes. The following items are considered non-qualifying purchases for which Points will not be awarded: purchases made for resale; purchases paid for with The League by Sports Authority or S.A. Elite by Sports Authority Member Program Rewards; licenses; tickets; sales tax; state fees; store services; service charges; delivery and assembly charges; shipping charges; commercial purchases; recycling fees; warranties; eGift Cards; other excluded charges; and certain items that may be excluded in particular promotions.
When do I begin earning Points?
You can begin earning Points for qualifying purchases as soon as you enroll in the program in-store or online at sportsauthority.com/theleague or saelite.com/memberprogram.
When do Points appear on my account?
Points will appear in your account the next business day following your in-store purchase. For sportsauthority.com purchases, Points are not awarded until your order ships (typically three to fourteen days). This is the same time your credit card is formally charged.
What happens to my Points when I return an item?
If an item is returned, Points will be deducted from your account equal to the amount of Points earned for the applicable amount of that purchase.
Can I earn Points when I redeem or purchase a Gift Card?
Points will not be earned on Sports Authority and S.A. Elite by Sports Authority Gift Card purchases as well as online eGift Card purchases.
What are Rewards?
Rewards are coupons for discounts on future purchases at participating U.S. or Puerto Rico Sports Authority and S.A. Elite by Sports Authority retail store locations.
How do I earn Rewards?

How do I know when I'm entitled to Rewards?
A Reward notification will be sent to the email address listed in your account within two weeks of issuance. You can also log in to your account at any time to see if a Reward is available. Completing your online registration is the only way to access your Point balance and access your Rewards online.
When will I receive my Rewards?
  • Rewards will be issued and available to print at sportsauthority.com/theleague or saelite.com/memberprogram approximately five to seven business days after the last day of the earning period and issued by email within two weeks after the last day of the earning period.
  • Members who have earned a Reward will also receive their Reward by mail within three to five weeks from the date of issuance. A valid mailing address is required when completing your online registration.

Where can I use my Rewards?
Rewards can be used toward the purchase of products in Sports Authority and S.A. Elite by Sports Authority retail stores. They may be used on any eligible product or service in an amount greater than the value of the Reward, excluding sales tax. Rewards may be combined with other offers, but they are valid on in-stock items only, and the combined discount must not exceed the purchase price.
Do Rewards expire?
Rewards have a 60-day expiration from the date of issue. Rewards will not be accepted after the date of expiration.
Are there exclusions when redeeming Rewards?
Yes. The following items are considered non-qualifying redemptions for which Rewards may not be redeemed: rain checks; prior purchases; online purchases; purchase of Sports Authority Gift Cards, S.A. Elite by Sports Authority Gift Cards or online eGift Cards; licenses; tickets; store services; items intended for resale or as payment on your Sports Authority credit card; sales tax; state fees; shipping charges; delivery charges; service charges; recycling fees and commercial purchases. Other exclusions may apply.
Can I give my Rewards to a friend or family member?
Yes. Rewards are transferable.
Do I have to print my Rewards in order to use it in a Sports Authority or S.A. Elite by Sports Authority store?
No. Rewards will also be delivered by mail within three to five weeks from the date of issuance. A valid mailing address is required when completing your online registration. Additionally, you can communicate the unique 19-digit certificate number, listed below the bar code on your Rewards, to a Sales Associate at the register when redeeming your Reward.
Can I have my Rewards mailed to me?
Yes. Members who opt to receive their Rewards by mail must provide a valid mailing address and will receive their Rewards three to five weeks from the date of issuance. Mailing address must be provided prior to the end of the quarter in order to receive Rewards via mail.
My Rewards expired before I could use it. Will you still honor it?
No. Rewards will not be accepted after the date of expiration.
I lost my Rewards. How can I get a replacement?
Rewards can be reprinted on the My Account page of The League by Sports Authority or S.A. Elite by Sports Authority® Member Program websites as long as the Reward is still active (unredeemed and not expired).

"My Account" Questions

Why do I have to give you my phone number and email address?
Providing your phone number and email address allows Store Associates to access your account in the event that you do not have your membership card at the time of purchase.
How do I edit my info?
You can access and edit your personal contact information, email address, password, Reward notification preferences and profile questions by logging in to your account at sportsauthority.com/theleague or saelite.com/memberprogram and going to the "My Information" section of the website.
I can't sign up online. Why not?
There may be a few reasons that you are unable to sign up online:
  • If you are having difficulty with the registration fields, please ensure you are providing all the information required in the noted fields. Also ensure that your email address and confirm email address entries are the same and that your password and confirm password are the same.
  • If you are still having difficulty, please contact Member Services at 877-872-6806 for The League by Sports Authority or 800-242-0282 for the S.A. Elite by Sports Authority® Member Program.
How do I change my password?
You can change your password by logging in to your account at sportsauthority.com/theleague or saelite.com/memberprogram and going to the "My Information" section of the website.
Will my personal and membership information be shared with other companies?
Sports Authority and S.A. Elite by Sports Authority are very conscious of your personal privacy. Only authorized employees and suppliers have access to your personal information, and only in order to administer the Program. Visit sportsauthority.com under "Privacy Policy" to view our full privacy policy.
I forgot my password, how do I get to it?
  • You can have your password reset and sent to the email address you provided at the time of enrollment by clicking the "Forgot your Password" link located directly under the "Log into My Account" area on sportsauthority.com/theleague.
  • You can also have the Member Services team reset your password by calling 877-872-6806 for The League by Sports Authority or 800-242-0282 for the S.A. Elite by Sports Authority® Member Program.
